There is no authentic report regarding the location of the grave of the Prophet Hud (peace be upon him), and opinions regarding this differ. Some say it is in the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus or elsewhere, but the most plausible opinion, according to Ibn Ishaq and others, is that his grave is in Hadramawt, Yemen, because it is considered the location of the people of 'Aad.
Sheikh Abdul Wahab Al-Najjar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "The people of Hadramawt say that Hud (peace be upon him) settled in Hadramawt after the destruction of the people of 'Ad until he died, and was buried in the eastern part of their land, about two stages away from the city of Tarim, near the Wadi Barhut. It has been reported from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was buried in a red sand dune, with a dark tree at his head in Hadramawt."
The people of Palestine claim that he was buried there, and they built a grave for him and hold an annual celebration in his honor. However, the claim of the people of Hadramawt is closer to being plausible, as it is adjacent to the land of 'Aad, which is the Ahqaf region, rather than Palestine.
