Episode (11)
Allah Almighty says: {And in yourselves. Then will you not see?} [Adh-Dhariyat: 21]. Since the closest thing to a person is their own self, their Creator, Maker, Designer, and Originator invites them to reflect and ponder on themselves. When a person contemplates their own being, the signs of divine Lordship become illuminated, the lights of certainty shine forth, and the tumult of doubt and uncertainty diminishes. The darkness of ignorance is dispelled, as one finds within oneself clear evidence of divine management, proof of monotheism, and signs that testify to the existence of the Creator, guiding and directing one to Him.
Here are some scientific proofs related to human beings and their creation:
1- The sensation and the skin:
Allah Almighty says: {Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses - We will drive them into a fire. Every time their skins are roasted through, We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment.} [An-Nisa: 56]. This is a cosmic truth: the site of sensation and pain in humans is the skin. The disbelievers are punished through the replacement or alteration of their skin to make them experience the torment. According to the Quran, the sense of tasting or experiencing punishment is located in the skin. Microscopic anatomy of the skin has shown that it is rich in nerve fibers that receive and transmit all types of sensory information from the external environment through the layers of the skin: the epidermis, the dermis, and the subcutaneous tissue. These layers transmit sensations of pain, heat, cold, pressure, and touch. The Holy Quran alerts us to this truth, stating that whenever Allah wishes to increase the suffering of the disbelievers, He replaces their burned skins, where the nerve fibers have perished, with new, unburned skins so they may taste the punishment once again. When microscopic anatomy reveals that nerve fibers are located in the skin, we recognize that Allah informed us of this fact in the Holy Quran fourteen centuries ago.
2- Fingerprints and their role in identifying individuals:
Allah Almighty says: {Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? (3) Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. (4)} [Al-Qiyamah: 3-4]. Science discovered the secret of fingerprints in the 19th century and revealed that fingerprints are made up of raised ridges on the skin's surface, with grooves and openings of sweat pores. These ridges waver, twist, and branch out, ultimately forming a unique pattern for each individual. It has been proven that no two fingerprints can be identical, even among identical twins who originate from a single egg. Fingerprints begin to form in the fetus during the fourth month and remain unique throughout a person's life. While two fingerprints might appear very similar, they can never be identical. Thus, fingerprints serve as a definitive and unique identifier for individuals, used worldwide in criminal investigations to identify perpetrators and thieves. This may be why Allah specifically mentions the fingertips, to highlight these aspects for humans:
- The hidden secret in the fingertips, which was only revealed in the era of scientific discoveries.
- The supreme ability to recreate human beings in their original form and appearance.
The invitation is open for humans to reflect on their organic systems, such as the digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems, and to contemplate the realm of emotions, sensations, thoughts, and beliefs.
